City rules
For work on homes, most of the rules come from your city. Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron and Dayton each run their own contractor registration or licensing, and they don't honor each other's. Electrical, plumbing and HVAC work on homes is licensed locally in most places. Check with the building department in each city you work in.
